Oldest House Museum Complex
Visit the Oldest House Museum Complex and trace more than 400 years of St. Augustine's history while you discover how Spanish, British, and American colonists lived on the Florida frontier. Experience the antique charm of the González-Alvarez House, the oldest documented colonial house in Florida. Browse the exhibits in the Manucy Museum. The Manucy Museum is the only exhibition in St. Augustine that covers all periods of the city's past.
The Museum of Florida's Military, located in the 18th-century Tovar House, presents uniforms, weapons, accouterments, and other assorted items related to Florida soldiers through the centuries. The museum is a cooperative project with the Florida National Guard.
The Page Edwards Gallery offers changing exhibitions on various aspects of Florida history. Enjoy a stroll through its beautiful walled garden; explore a reconstructed 18th-century-style kitchen; or shop for souvenirs and gifts in the museum shop and bookstore. The bookstore boasts one of the best selections of local history titles in St. Augustine.
The St. Augustine Historical Society, a not-for-profit organization founded in 1883, owns and operates the Oldest House Museum Complex.
Open daily from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed: Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. Guided tours of the González-Alvarez House are offered every half hour; the rest of the museum is self-guided.
Admission: $7.00 for adults, $6.00 for seniors (55 and over), $4.00 for children 6-18 and college students with ID. A family rate of $15 admits parents and all children 18 and under. Group rates (15 or more people) are available. Free parking is available in a lot nearby.
