Very little is known about the history of this small coastal community along Highway A1A. Beverly Beach itself is currently in the process of researching its heritage. What is known is that Beverly Beach became a town in 1955, and it celebrates its 50th anniversary this year, June 2005. The town is home to less than 600 people, and it is located approximately 65 miles from Jacksonville and 70 miles from Orlando.
Like Flagler Beach, Beverly Beach continues to promote preservation of natural and scenic resources and encourages visitors to enjoy glimpses of Old Florida. Oceanfront properties along A1A provide public access to the beaches, which attracts the popular sports of surfing, surf fishing, swimming, snorkeling, and boating.Rent a bicycle or a kayak to experience the ocean breezes, or enjoy a quiet river eco-tour. For those who choose a longer stay, Beverly Beach offers both ocean-view and ocean-front camping and lodging with spectacular sunrise and sunset panoramas. Beach access can be found at the south end of Beverly Beach on Highway A1A. Seven blue picnic shelters offer you a delightfully shaded place to have lunch while also affording you the opportunity to admire the coastal scenery. Restrooms are also available.
